Embroidery Tech Training: Strengthening My Practice & Serving My Community

West & Remount Custom Apparel is a Charlotte-based embroidery studio rooted in culture, creativity, and community. This project supports professional training to become a certified embroidery machine technician—a critical investment that strengthens my business and fills a long-standing service gap in Charlotte’s creative economy.

Through a 5-day, hands-on certification course in commercial machine repair, I will gain the technical skills to maintain my own equipment and offer repair services to other artists, makers, schools, and small businesses. This work ensures that the tools behind the art—embroidery machines, sewing machines, and overlock machines—stay in use and accessible, especially for underrepresented creatives.

By combining artistry with technical expertise, I aim to expand the impact of West & Remount from creative production to community support—keeping Charlotte stitched together, one repair at a time.
