When AI Gets It Wrong: Meet the Real West & Remount Customs
If you've been following the rise of artificial intelligence, you already know it's capable of some pretty amazing things. It can write emails, generate artwork, and even create promotional graphics in just a few minutes.
But every now and then...AI gets it hilariously wrong.
Recently, the organizers of the Queen City HBCU Cookout Scholarship Fundraiser surprised vendors with custom promotional graphics to help spread the word about the event. We thought it was such a thoughtful idea, and we couldn't wait to see ours.
Then we opened the file.
Our logo was there.
Our business name was there.
But the woman standing behind the embroidery machine?
That definitely wasn't me.
My daughter Marley and I laughed so hard we immediately gave this mystery business a new name:
Left & Wilkinson Custom Embroidery.
It looked like AI had searched for "embroidery business owner" and created someone who could have been my distant cousin from another timeline.
Honestly, we couldn't even be mad.
It was too funny.
The Real Face Behind West & Remount Customs
For those of you who are new here, I'm Devin, the owner of West & Remount Customs, a Charlotte-based custom embroidery business specializing in HBCU-inspired apparel, personalized gifts, and live embroidery experiences.
Unlike our AI-generated twin, every item we create is stitched on a real embroidery machine by a real person with a passion for celebrating culture and community.
